Christmas presents.

I'm enjoying watching on Facebook and reading through blog about the wonderful gifts my friends and family got and I think it's time to make my very own post about it.

Telling the truth, there is very little material things that I wanted this Christmas season, which is weird as I'm a person that loves to put my hands on the latest gadget (and if Santa is reading this, a Kindle or better yet an iPad, will come handy in the next months!)

But right before Christmas I had a job interview and there was NOTHING, nothing I wanted more, than the job!

I tried to keep my feet on the ground, but I couldn't help thinking how wonderful it would be to have the news about me getting the job?? What better way to celebrate for the holidays??

Well, I didn't have to wonder much, because my wish came true!

A lots of beautiful things will be happening in the next month....I will be going back to school to take some courses. I got my temporary teaching certificate and will take tests to make it a professional certificate. In the meanwhile, I accepted a job as an ESOL teacher to an High School down town.

Yes, there will be some more driving and some schedule adjustment to go, some running around and some going crazy at times, but I will be finally earn a salary rather than be paid hourly and the salary start at 5 times more what I was making so far!

What's an ESOL teacher you might ask? ESOL stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages. I will be teaching basic English skills to students that, like me, came to the States from other countries and have a hard time getting to understand how everything works here in America.

I don't have words to describe how happy excited and a little bit scared I am!
But I'm ready, bring it on!

Thanking people!

I didn't get around to do my Saturday randomness yesterday since an horrible headache forced me to go to sleep at 7.30 pm (I didn't mind too much tho!). So I will skip that for next Saturday, but I will go ahead and thank all the people that featured me this week.

♥ I want to thank Stanza at The Good, The Bad, And The Gotta Have. She reviewed my blog and my Artfire shop and I had fun being interviewed by her. Both my blog and my shop scored a "Gotta Have" rate and you can read about it here: Blog review, Shop review and my interview.

♥ Friday morning I woke up to a nice email update for a blog that I like a lot: The Eclectic Element. Kayla, the owner, comments often over here and she was very sweet in featuring me in her "Supporting my tribe" series. Your can read all about it here

♥ Then the morning proceeded with a message form Venus that informed my my round washcloths were featured on he blog, Happy Find, with other cool ruffled items.

♥ In the afternoon, I received another message from Monarchdancer telling me my cupcake key chain is included in her treasury

So I think I can say in all fairness that at the end on the weekend I felt LOVED which is just appropriate since is Valentine's Day Today.
And to wish you all an Happy Valentine's Day, I'm gonna share this video with all of you!

First Artfire Artist Feature: Gems by Jerri

Your name? Jerri

Location? Comfort, TX

Where can you be found on the net?

How long have you been crafting?
I have been crafting off and on for most of my life. I only started creating for sale in the last year. I previously gave my jewelry as gifts or sold to friends and family.

How long have you been selling?
I have had an Etsy shop since July of 2008. I recently opened a studio on ArtFire as well.

What is your favorite item in your shop?
My current favorite are the newly listed Chysolite and Jet pieces, particularly the earrings.

What's the most exciting thing about your craft?
I love when I receive new materials. I get so excited about what I can create. It's almost like Christmas when I get an order in the mail. The next best thing is logging in to my shops and finding an order, because that is when you know you aren't the only one who loves an item.

What do you like least about your craft?
I can't begin to explain how much I dislike photographing and editing photos to post. It has to be the most difficult part of any listing for me.

Is crafting a full or part-time job for you? If part-time what's your day job?
I craft in my spare time. I work full time for a jewelry manufacturing company here in south Texas. I prepare waxes for casting, usually in silver. I actually get to do a job I truly enjoy, so I couldn't be happier.

What would you like to learn next?
I am currently learning to work with polymer clay and really think it could become my new addiction.
Did you enjoy learning about Gems by Jerri?? I sure hope so! I know so, I can see you, my readers, digging in the etsy and artfire shops admiring this beauties...eheheh
Jerri was also very king to feature my ArtFire studio on her blog, so go read what she wrote about me!
