You're gonna miss me when I'm gone....

Have you ever felt like you're in a place where you don't belong?
That's how I feel right now and Ithink this song sums it up really good.

Can't say too much right now, but hopefully, the wind is changing for me!

Inspirational videos

My husband showed me this video the other day and I thought I passed it along as it really stroke a cord in me.

We did a little research on it and found out that it is the theme song of a video game called "Civilizations". I guess that's why they show the most important moment of our history.

Since I recently studies the story on the American Constitution, I was impressed to see Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln in it as well. All in all I think it's a good start up point to teach history to our children in a fun way.

However, my research didn't end there as I wanted to know the language used in the song as I find it beautiful and the meaning of the words, because I believe that will add more meaning and feelings to the video. I found out the language used is Swahili and the words "Baba yetu" mean "Our Father", so the lyric of the song is an actual prayer that in my opinion add spiritualism and power to the video. What do you think?

Hubby and I had some kind of philosophical discussion about this video, he sees it as a flash back of what humanity did in the past, some very good things, and some very bad one in the name of our ideals, but in the end the intentions behind our action were always good. he also observed that all started from few cavemen and we accomplished so far from that time that we reached for the stars....(the astronauts part).

I agree with him for the most part, but I also regretfully noticed that in the past we were way more driven that today. We weren't afraid to speak up for ourselves and even get our hands dirty for the things we wanted and believed in. Today, I think humanity is more concerned with commodities and political correctness than they own ideals for most parts.

But that's only my opinion.I really would like to know what this video means to you!

If this isn't inspirational, I don't know what is!! Not impressed yet? Then take a look at this young lady reproducing the song with 2 hands and a guitar!

Stuck in my head

Everyone gets that song stuck in your head for days, I believe.

This time for me it this beautiful and sweet song form Christina Perri, A Thousand years.

Someone pointed out to me that it was somehow related to the Twilight saga.
I'm not a fan of it so I wouldn't know.

To me the song speaks of love, at every level, and makes me recall of the movie "Brave".
But that's just me!

Hope you enjoy!

If I die young.....

.....nope I don't intend to, just letting you hear a song I like a lot lately.

Weird as usually I don't like country or songs with a sad theme (like dieing young lol) but I LOVE the voice of the singer and the banjo is a nice touch.

Hope you enjoy too :)

A singer I love: Rob Thomas

Every now and then I get a song in my head that I heard at the radio and can't get it out of my head. The above is a good example, I think it stuck with me for the positive bright message it it.

"Sometimes we don't really notice just how good it can get

so maybe we should start all over

start all over again"

Those words really left a mark inside.

And then I felt silly, completely silly, 'cause I thought Rob Thomas was kind of a new emerging singer coming out this year, instead a bit of research showed me that there are at least 2 albums out.....and I want them all!!!

This is of course the new one with the songs that I already love, but I'm sure the old one is just as good!

"and maybe someday we'll live our lives our loud, we will better off somehow, someday"

A song I love and a funny story.

Have you ever turned on the radio in your car and just found the perfect rhythmic song to bright the day and make it easier to wait that long red light?

I listen to radio frequently and one afternoon picking up the kids from school, I came across a song from Pink, that I really liked. And bonus points, the radio put it on a couple of times during the couple of hours I spent in the car.

Now, since English is only my second language, I must confess that sometimes for me is really difficult to catch ALL the words of a song, but I'm able to catch some of it and the superficial meaning of it. Then I go home, research the song on the internet, listen it to it again (and again and again and again.....lol) via you tube and find the lyric on google so I can really appreciated the message that the author is sending out.

This was the case this time. All I can catch from the radio was "You're perfect" and "Pretty pretty please". I put the volume up high the second time the song was on, so my daughter in the back can listen to it, since she always says "Pretty pretty please".

I arrive home and start my search. With luck I found the lyric that left me.....well, I let you see for yourself.

Made a wrong turn
Once or twice
Dug my way out
Blood and fire
Bad decisions
That's alright
Welcome to my silly life
Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood
Miss "no way it's all good"
It didn't slow me down
Mistaken
Always second guessing
Underestimated
Look, I'm still around...

Pretty, pretty please
Don't you ever, ever feel
Like your less than
f**ckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please
If you ever, ever feel
Like your nothing
You're f**ckin' perfect to me

You're so mean
When you talk
About yourself
You are wrong
Change the voices
In your head
Make them like you
Instead
So complicated
Look how big you'll make it
Filled with so much hatred
Such a tired game
It's enough
I've done all i can think of
Chased down all my demons
see you do the same

Pretty, pretty please
Don't you ever, ever feel
Like your less than
f**ckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please
If you ever, ever feel
Like your nothing
You're f**ckin' perfect to me

The world stares while i swallow the fear
The only thing i should be drinking is an ice cold beer
So cool in lying and we try, try, try
But we try too hard, it's a waste of my time
Done looking for the critics, cuz they're everywhere
They don't like my jeans, they don't get my hair
Exchange ourselves and we do it all the time
Why do we do that?
Why do I do that?
Why do I do that?

Ooh, pretty pretty pretty,
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel
Like you're less then, f**ckin' perfect
Pretty pretty please if you ever ever feel
Like you're nothing you're f**ckin' perfect, to me
You're perfect
You're perfect
Pretty, pretty please if you ever ever feel like you're nothing you're f**cking perfect to me

WHAT??? How didn't I picked the F bomb in this song???? And let my 5 yo singing it all day long???? Geeesh, mu hearing and my English must really suck bad if I didn't pick up on that!!!!!

Still, I do love the message of the song and I wish more teens and pre teens will listen to it.

Then one day I stumbled across a video of the same song posted on facebook by one of my friends....the same song...without the F word!!! So I didn't dream it about it!

Turns out my radio station is family friendly, so they transmitted the version of the song that didn't contain any curse words.

Here I'm sharing it with you (but please if they are children around abstain to watch this, even tho the song is clean, the video is very strong).
