While you're recovery from turkey and carbs come, don't forget to think of things you're thankful for.

For me, there are many things.

This one, I chose to share it with all of you!

Biking without traning wheels!

My daughter asked me to take off the training wheels off her bicycle to learn how to bike without them.

I was very skeptical about it, but this is the result after the afternoon trying
Pretty cool, uh? I'm pretty proud of my little girl for learning so beautifully and quickly......do I see a new bike in her future??? LOL post signature

Ballet recital

My little Michelle had her recital last Saturday and she was super super cute! Don't you agree??

I really wish that my camera will take better pictures in the dark, but the quality is not as bad as the video :(

This is her ballet piece, she's the second girl from the left.

This is her tap number during rehearsal (I really hated the giant bunned head that came into the videos the night of the recital lol)

Grand finale

Worth of a diva, don't you think?

And after the eating and playing winded down, what's better that singing the Rapunzel song with daddy??

Michelle Kindergarten recital

2 days ago, my little Michelle had her very first school recital, she was a cute little flower.
When the teacher sent the note home for the costume, I immediately went to dig up my very first ballet tutu that I even wore. I thought, it's pink and it will be perfect! And here it is!

Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen. You're looking at a vintage piece as I was 8 when I got to rock this baby.
My daughter is 5 so I was a little bit shocked that I didn't have to retouch it in any way, not even the shoulder straps! Then I remember that this tutu was already resuscitated once, when my little sister was 5.....but I'm digressing.

My daughter loved the costume and even more so after I told that it was mine and I was proud of her having it now (it's not that I can really wear it anymore you know!).
Still, beside to the emotional attachment, I wasn't really satisfied as it didn't look "flower" enough.

That's when mama go shopping for pretty fabric and gets out the sewing machine!!! Of course, Michelle had to like everything too, so off we went and after some running around, some noisy sewing and a lot of trying on, we got the "flower look" I was aiming for.

A petal finish over skirt with sequin fabric and hand sewn flowers on her neckline and the front of the skirt and she looked just darling for her recital

Maybe I should have added sleeves.....what do you think???

Christmas dance recital

My little ballerina had a Christmas dance recital last Saturday.
After months of waiting out at her dance lessons, I finally got to see the fruit of my time and who know why, she pulled the shy card! But all in all, she was incredibly cute :)

What's going on?

For months now my posts have been very sporadic, impersonal and now come down to barely nothing.

I know you all that used to read me are wondering, what's going on and what happened to me, so today I'm gonna asnwer those questions.

A lot it's going on.

♥ Michelle started Kindergarten this year and I thought that would give me a lot of time for my self....Boy, was I wrong. Between meeting, field trips, school activities, homework and volunteer, sometimes I barely have time to breath.

♥ Gabriel is about to graduate from the Emerald Coast Autism Center. This coming December 15th to be exact. It's huge, it's all we ever wished for, that the therapies he was receiving there would work and make him better. They did. Along with this fantastic news, a fight started with the public school system that want for Gabriel to go back in the same school he was before, where he was mistreated, neglected and regressed so badly. All he wants is to walk to school with Michelle in the morning *sigh
This fight is literally consuming all my energy, I had to study countless law books, local laws, schools policies and county policies....well, you can imagine. The fight is not even half way over and I'm still in my position making phone calls, pleading his case, coordinating teachers, social workers and attorneys.....fun fun fun NOT!

♥ Thanksgiving is here. I don't know how that happened. Was Halloween just yesterday, no? I guess not. At least this year I have all my shopping done, all I have to think about is the cooking and today is the last day of the week of having any kind of obligations. Then I'm gonna hibernate in my kitchen and come out on Friday.

♥ My shops are doing ok but not as well as I wish they would. Normal consequence of being so all over the place lately and not being able to promote. But I'm still here, alive and crocheting.

Just wanted you all to know. Better things are coming :)

Back to school: Michelle in Kindergarten

I can't believe it's happening, but my Michelle started Kindergarten today.
Back to school is always a crazy time, with new routines and tons of things to remember....the day started for me with dropping one of my earrings in the toilet on the way out with consequential getting all wet to recuperate it and have to dress all over again.
I understood right there I was gonna have a fine day lol
But luckily all went well. Michelle went from super excited to be a nerve wreck, to be totally exhausted.
The pic above it's her sitting in her classroom during her orientation few days ago and here she is, all her beauty, starting a new school year, actually THE school year: the Kindergarten one.

She insisted on bringing her BFF, her jaguar that of course came back home with me once "we" dropped her off.
We came back just few minutes ago, just in time to avoid a very typical Floridian storm.
She had a wonderful day and looking forward for tomorrow :)

I can still remember the first day of Gabriel's kindergarten, but time fly by and he's already in 2nd grade.

Mice!

Had the honor to work on a custom order for something I've never done before: a MOUSE. A pink one at that! Honestly didn't know how it would come out and had fun picking up some new supplies to realize it and.....voila'!

My daughter Michelle seemed to particularly like it, so I let her browse through my yarn stash, pick up the colors, the eyes and the nose for her little friend....I present you Scurfy.

I guess she really loves it since I found this drawing made by her this morning

She drew herself in the middle in orange, the yellow tiger at her left is "Jaguar" a stuffed lion cub that she adopted when she was 3 and goes wherever she goes. Behind Jaguar, in red is her new hedgehog that I got from FerretLadyDesigns that she named "Spykee" and on her right in blue you can easily see her mouse.

Still wondering if I should offer mice in my shop. I have limited supply for now but I can sure make custom orders if anyone is interested :)

A new ballerina in the house!!

And nope, it's not me going back to my ever lasting love (ballet!), but it's my little girly girl!!
I signed up to a ballet class this month and she's loving it!!!!
As you can see for your self, this is her showing off her leotard and her skirt

She's having ballet and tap lessons every Tuesday and when it's dance lesson-day, she will ask repetitively...."Mommy, is it time yet?"
That's the face I get when I answer: "No yet, 3 more hours...."

Time to take a bow and go now.....

Where is my seat?????????

Since I started working during my week ends, I guess my daughter Michelle is getting a little lonely with 2 boys in the house, so she organizes tea parties with her "friends".

Thing is, her guest basically invade the living room, especially the couch, so the above is a scene that happens often in my household.

This is what I mean when I say that I could seat and rest for my minutes: it's because my seat is taken!!!!!!!!!!
