Fiasco

The show was a real fiasco and totally didn't go as I expected it.
Above is how my booth looked like....I had to leave some of the items inside my suite case 'cause the table was smaller that I was promised, so I had to cram as much as possible in the space I had.

Aside for a lots of "ohhh" and "ahhh" and for "OMG your stuff is so cute....did you make it yourself???" I didn't get much action. I didn't sell even one thing and was able to hand out a whopping 5 business cards.......2 were to children :(

I did learn a few things tho:
1- I will NOT do outdoor show in Florida. The heat made my nose bleed and the wind knocked my displays over like 500 times.
2- Next time I will make sure to participate to art&craft show only: this event included rummage and used goods vendors too (and cheapo resellers) and the crowd was looking for a few bucks deal, not high end crochet nick knacks.
3- Next time, I will go check out the event before deciding to participate: the exact dimensions of the table, space available around it, number and type of vendors and if they allow soliciting....which it would have been ok if the solicitors were charged the same fee of me, but this wasn't the case.
4- I did create a bit of interested when I started crocheting "live": so that's definitely something I will keep doing.

I guess that pretty much sums it up. Archived like a lesson learned for next time with a bruise on my pride.

Sneak Peak

Busy busy busy for the craft show tomorrow and I neglected my little ol' blog.
But I thought tonight I will give a little sneak pick of what's coming. Of course, tomorrow I will time tons of pictures too, but in the mean while here something for you to look at.

This will be my main displays: I have one for jewelry and key chains

And another one for my Christmas ornaments

Let's see who's the first reader to find where I used empty toilet paper rolls in my displays....can you guess??? lol

I will be sporting a shirt with my website made by BadInkClothing

And a nice comfy and colorful apron from Sewnfromtheheart

You'll have to wait tomorrow for the rest :P

What I've been working on

As many crafters, I have many projects laying around and personally I have the habits to start 2 0r 3 at the same time, so I can switch from one to other when I get bored (rarely lol)
My last completed project was assigned to me from my mother-in-law.
She bought me the pattern and all the necessary supplies to make a 4th of July outfit for my daughter Michelle.

I know it's a bit early for the 4th of July, but the colors of the outfit fits the Memorial day as well, so I saw it fitting.
Plus I really couldn't wait to show it to you....and neither could she! Do you think she likes it?

The dress is basically a t-shirt with trims and comes with a matching shoulder bags that made my daughter feels like a grown-up.
The details includes a white star applique on the front left (the side of the heart) and I used the same star design to make a hair clip since she likes to have her hair up.

I'm considering offering the design for sale in my shop, what do you think?
I see a very simple white T-shirt spiced up with bright orange and hot pink for summer times or a pink and brow theme for a....well a cupcake! lol

At the moment is available upon request for an intro price of $50. You might contact me at piccoladonna2006[at]hotmail[dot]com of thought my blog at any time if you're interested :)
