Merry Christmas to me Part 5

I have started to get some Christmas goodies in the mail from my dear friends, so I thought to start sharing them with you and make you drool!

It's time to thank Sewnfromtheheart for sending me this lovely ribbon and all the supplies to make Autism Awareness ribbons.
I do love how thoughtful Alicia was knowing that this is a cause very dear to me!

Trading and trading

With another trade event under my belt and the holidays approaching, I wanna show you the lovely goodies I got.

My first trade was with Sewn From the Heart for one of her books.
Not only the book showed up immediately at my door with the trade event over only from few hours, but she had the thoughtfulness to send me a signed copy and I can't wait to dive head first in it!

She's gonna get a mini version of my cookies ornaments for her mini Christmas tree.

My second trade was with the talented Alisuns for her precious jewelry.
I'm getting ready for Valentine's day, can you tell??

She's gonna get a cute train engineer hat that I will make for her nephew.

My last trade was with MDavisDesigns.this lovely cameo is gonna be a Christmas present
And also got some awesome flower cards

She's getting a cozy pair of boots!

ROAR!!

I'm one of the lucky person that at the beginning of the school year was able to find a job in the school system as a cafeteria monitor.
I love my job as it allows me to interact with children between ages of 5 to 10 and it's only 3 hours per day, so I don't get burned out from it: I like that I have plenty time to recharge for the next day.

One of my duty (among a billion of other) is to make sure that the kids have all they need to have a comfortable time during lunch, like silver wares, napkins, straws and such.
That means a lot of walking back and forth between the containers at the end of the room and the various tables and reminding who asked me what.
It's not very easy, so I decided to cut the chase and wear an apron where I could accommodate all the goodies is various pockets and give a quick and accurate service to each child in the room.

And what better way to do this if not with an handmade apron made by Alicia from Sewn From The Heart
I already had her cupcake apron she made for me a while back, but since the mascot of the school is a tiger, I asked her to handcraft 2 more aprons for me and my coworker to honor the mascot.
And she beautifully delivered!

The kids were thrilled to see the new aprons at lunch time!!!

I love working with Alicia, she always understand exactly what I want and her products always exceed my expectations.

Must be reciprocal as she also wrote some lovely words about my creations on her blog: go check it out!

Speaking of Earth day.....

.....I don't think I ever showed my new bike. There, let me fix this!

I bought is last year and was going to organize my garage and take a good picture of it, but who am I kidding??? That's never going to happen! lol

Look at those details!!!

It brought back a lot of hold memories as I remembered my dad giving a bicycle with a similar silhouette, tho much smaller and it was white and red, when I was a child.....

But what kind of bike will be without a basket??? For mine I went for something unconventional and handmade by Sewn From The Heart.....with cupcakes of course!!!

Other then looking pretty, it's a very comfortable bike and I try to use it as much as possible instead of the car, especially for my trips to the post office (a couple of miles from my house).

Cupcake pillow covers are here

Do you remember last time that I showed you my kitchen?? I was showing off my cupcake table cloth made by Sewn From The Heart (you can read all about it HERE)

Well, Alicia kept her promise and sent me the pillow covers I requested! You can see in the picture above the kids enjoying them.

She wasn't able to make me curtains, but she sent me matching fabric for me to make them on my own. Watch out for my next post......

Kitchen in the new house!

I always promised to show you pictures of the new house I moved in, but it's been almost a year and never did it.....how bad of me!!!
I did show you pictures of the stove area in a previous post.
On the opposite side of the room tho, I have our dining tables and chairs and I recently got me a spanking new table cloth that I want to show off.

Do you see the cupcakes I see??? lol

Courtesy of Sewn From The Heart from the latest trade event!

Now, if only I could convince her to make me matching curtains and pillow covers for the chairs......eheheh

Cheer on!

By now, we all know how my first craft show went (you can read about it HERE)
so you can imagine I bummed I was.

But I'm lucky because I have wonderful friends always ready to cheer me up! So this is what I found in my mail box, the Monday following my disastrous experience:

I got the sweetest card from Kayla of The Eclectic Element and my talented friend Alicia of Sewn from the heart gifted me with a travel tissue cover and a business cards holder in the fabric that matches the apron I bought from her especially for my show. She told me that was the very first business card holder she ever made....it looks perfect to me! What do you all think??
