Weight update #7

This is shocking!!!

I actually managed to loose 2 pounds since last update, AFTER THANKSGIVING!!!

How is it possible??
I honestly have no clue.
I ate the turkey, I pigged out on the pie.

Sure I kept active, I actually deep cleaned my house and did some re-organizing.....must be it!
I'm honestly shocked as I really didn't pay too much attention to my cardio or do too much exercise.

But I'll take it!

Now, just let's keep at it!!

Michelle 6th birthday!

My little girl turned 6 on Monday and seems like long time ago that she was a small baby always hanging on my hip! But here she is sharing the party with her brother friends.

I guess you wanna see the cake.....tada!!! Here it comes Rapunzel, courtesy of Sweet Choice Bakery.

....all light up and ready for wish!

And after the eating and playing winded down, what's better that singing the Rapunzel song with daddy??

Happy birthday young lady and many many many more!

Happy Birthday Michelle!

If you're a fellow reader, you'd know that Friday was my little girl's birthday, she turned 4 years old and I thought to dedicate an entire post to celebrate her.
In the picture above she's showing off the T-shirt I made for her. I crocheted a little hot pink cupcake with a candle on it just for her and I ironed the picture on it on the shirt to wish her an Happy Birthday. She was really happy about it and wore the shirt with proud all day.

We had a pink and chocolate cake in the evening when daddy came home and had fun making funny pictures. We ended the day in mommy and daddy's bed watching a movie, exhausted but happy!

I remember when I found out I was pregnant for the second time..well, almost 5 years ago! I was at my last year of my master in Biology of Nutrition and I was studying night and day to get all done before hubby will get out of the military and we will have to move. We bought a big swim pool to set up in our yard so little Gabriel could have fun in it while I spent every moment on the book trying to get as much as possible done. Then one day it hit me that I was late and was not mistakes: I was waiting another child. I remember feeling so tired all of sudden and panic tightening my throat....How was I going to do it all?? We were moving TO ANOTHER COUNTRY in less that a year.....I remember fear taking place deep inside, I remember getting so sick and nauseated that I couldn't stand straight and I remember not being able to sleep AT ALL....The something magic happened: I found an old hook and a spool of abandoned thread at my moms house in a restless day where I couldn't even pick up Gabriel without feeling to faint and the rest is history! I made so many things and I was able to open a shop to sell them!

Michelle, my little baby girl that look so much like me to scare myself sometimes, was the inspiration behind all that happened from that day on.

The night before Easter, April 15th 2006 I woke up in pain. I didn't think she was coming yet, the doctor kept saying it will be around the 21th. But around midday of April 16th there was no doubts.....she was coming, no matter if I was ready or not.
And finally around 3.30 pm that day the nurse come to pick me up from my room, by time my feet touched the ground I broke my water and she was in my life!

She's a very strong girl and already had her fair share of trouble. Right after was born (a pink bundle with very big and bright green eyes) we notice that the frenul under her tongue was shorted than it should have been, she had trouble suctioning milk from the bottle (I have a genetic condition that doesn't allow me to produce milk for my babies) and later on she had real troubles eating solid food, so before she was 6 months old she had to undergo surgery. I remember that day at the hospital, the surgery was very brief and not invasive at all and Michelle was very brave but she looked at me with a very mad face all day like to day: "Why did you let that guy touch me like that?" Was too funny! But that afternoon, she was finally able to eat her cereal and a little bit of smashed food and that night - the first word!!!! MA-MA!!
We were in Italy at that time, living at my parents as my husband left to come here in Florida when Michelle was barely 1 month old. It took time for them to bond together when we were all finally reunited, but now there is not doubts that she's daddy little princess, Gabriel's best friend and the color of my life.

She's very artsy and the walls of my house can testimony for that! There is no day spent that Michelle doesn't have a mark and literally leave her "mark" somewhere for me to find and no matter how huge is the mess, I can't bring myself to be mad at her when she shows it to me with much proud!

Her favorite food are Gold fish Crackers, chocolate, ice cream and pasta. She also really big on broccoli and green veggies tho!

Her favorite colors are pink in every shade, green and yellow. She loved Winnie The Pooh when she was a baby and now she's in jungle animals. We have all kinds of stuffed animals around the house (lions, hen, jaguar, elephant, dogs, cats, birds, you name it) and she's planning to ask Santa Claus for a very tall giraffe.
Whatever she wished for on her birthday candle, I'm sure will become true! Love you Michelle, with all my heart.....Your Mommy.

Randomness Saturdays

And another Saturday is upon us.....HAPPY EASTER to all of you!
Here the latest news, mostly about business this week.

♥ I'm taking a break for my Etsy shop: yes, you read it right. For the last 2 years I woke up in the morning scrambling over the PC with my hot coffee to list something, then crochet something, taking pictures, editing them and eat a sandwich at the PC again while I was listing another item, do all my chore and spend time with the kids in the afternoon so at night I can sit down at the PC and list while tweeting, facebooking, posting on kaboodle, votehandmade and what have you to get views.....all that to get 10 views at day in the best day. No more.
I actually got back to CREATE and to love what I create and loving it more this way.
I'm not going to leave Etsy completely: I will still take orders and list a few things, I'm just no going to sweat over a site that is not giving me nothing else.

♥ But, not all hopes are lost! I'm still very active in my Artfire Studio" new products are added daily and to celebrate Easter with all of you I'm having a FREE SHIPPING SALE and little samples are available like this

♥ I'm also very happy that My very best friend Michele at Sweet Irie decided to come back on Artfire. You can visit her studio here!

♥ The best news of the week was that I was accepted on 1000markets. For those that don't know, 1000markets is a site to sell handmade, but it's not for everyone since is juried. So, I submitted my work and few days ago I got approved! Here a sneak pick for all of you and I'm offering a free gift with purchase for all the people that will go to shop there

♥ I got very spoiled this week with a lots of amazing things coming in the mail: but this is enough for another post!

♥ And now enough business talking and I'm going to share with you a band that lately I'm LOVING so much that was really hard to pick up just ONE song to share with you: The Nickel back. I'm so gonna buy all their CDs, they're simply amazing.
For now I settle down for this song, since it's a theme really dear (and also scary!) for me, hope you enjoy it!

Happy!!

Tonight My heart is just full of happiness and joy even tho I'm still fighting a bad stomachache.
This morning I woke receiving more love from the "Shops with less than 10 sales" blog from the ArtFire guild and I couldn't be more pleased. The members of the guild are awesome, especially the moderator, Kim, is such a sweetum.
Sales are picking up and I'm preparing myself for the holiday rush....can't wait!
But enough talking about me!
All of you, or at least most of you, know that I'm working really closely with Michele, Sweet Irie owner especially on her....ahemm our blog. I own her so much in so many ways and I really wish I can met her in real life and squeeze her with all my love.
But even tho, we haven't me yet, we virtually hang out together as much as we can trying to know as much as possible about each other and few days ago she showed me her portofolio. Not only she makes the best sewed goodies that I've ever seen, that are so perfect that you can't even tell it's "handmade" (see picture above!), but he sweet hands and her amazing brain can create the most wonderful design like this:

Or this beautiful portrait of herself:

But those are really just a small example of what you can see in her portofolio all made by Michele by scratch!!!
Isn't she talented?? What do you think??

Happy birthday Gabriel!!!

Yesterday was Gabe's 5Th birthday! Gabriel is my son, my first born, my sweetheart. As I'm looking at him growning so fast, I can't help thinking how little he still is.

Many readers maybe remember me writing about my son a while ago, as I'm concerned about his language skills and development. Gabe was born in Italy 5 years ago and was raised with lots of love. But over the pride to be a new mom I could see that something was wrong. As for today we're still fighting to understand exactly what is it, but we're pretty sure that something is missing here. But beyond all the words that Gabe won't say and can't understand, I have to just look into his beautiful eyes to see all the love and how happy he is. And that's all it matters for us, in our secret silent world made of looks, hugs and kisses. Of course, we'll not stop trying to understand how to get him better....until there is breath in me.....

Here some pics of him and my youngest daughter, Michelle:

And that's me and Gabriel......I LOVE YOU SON!!!
