Speaking of Earth day.....

.....I don't think I ever showed my new bike. There, let me fix this!

I bought is last year and was going to organize my garage and take a good picture of it, but who am I kidding??? That's never going to happen! lol

Look at those details!!!

It brought back a lot of hold memories as I remembered my dad giving a bicycle with a similar silhouette, tho much smaller and it was white and red, when I was a child.....

But what kind of bike will be without a basket??? For mine I went for something unconventional and handmade by Sewn From The Heart.....with cupcakes of course!!!

Other then looking pretty, it's a very comfortable bike and I try to use it as much as possible instead of the car, especially for my trips to the post office (a couple of miles from my house).

Going green part 1

Did I tell you how much I love Pinterest lately? I can literally loose my all day browsing it! Among the pins I love the most are the ones where bloggers found tricks to reproduce household items at a fraction of the cost of brand names and more often than not in a way that it's much safer for human use and Earth. In honor of Earth day tomorrow, I figure I will make an effort to make my house greener.
My plan will be to replace all detergents with homemade ones as much as possible. For now I'm successfully using reusable dryer sheets as I read about in on this blog, Live Renewed The only difference for now is that I'm not using a natural detergent yet as I'm sticking to the dollar store brand to keep my detergent spending as low as possible. But never say never.....voila'! My recycled baby wipe case full of reusable dryer sheets
I tried for a few days now and they get rid of the static nicely and I think the clothes are softer and smell better than when using disposable dryer sheets. maybe I should decorate that plain white box with cupcakes???? lol post signature

Michelle 6th birthday!

My little girl turned 6 on Monday and seems like long time ago that she was a small baby always hanging on my hip! But here she is sharing the party with her brother friends.

I guess you wanna see the cake.....tada!!! Here it comes Rapunzel, courtesy of Sweet Choice Bakery.

....all light up and ready for wish!

And after the eating and playing winded down, what's better that singing the Rapunzel song with daddy??

Happy birthday young lady and many many many more!

Favorite snacks

I know that I started a journey of eating healthier and exercising everyday, but still, I have few weakness and I'd love to introduce my friends to it!
Ready? Set....GO!

First on the list: Chocolate Cheerios

I've never been a fan of cheerios, I usually prefer granola cereals, but when they came up with the chocolate ones??? Well, I had to try them and I loved them ever since.

Even better tho, the Dulce de Leche Cheerios: a hint of caramel and infinite goodness!!!

Kellogg's cereal also nailed when they came up with the Chocolate and Double chocolate Krave: like the name says, you will crave them!

Last but no least, chocolate animal crackers......Do I need to say more????

Enjoy these yummies :)

Random bits

A couple of things that I wanted to share with you, but weren't enough to make a blog post about it, so I thought to combine them here.

First I'd like to invite you all to an auction on Facebook: lots of items for awesome prices, included a couple of items from my shop. Plus, the bidders are entered for a giveaway from Whimsical Wishes that so graciously put the auctions together.
I own a wonderful pair of hoops earrings from Stormy and love them!!

Then I want to thank burunduchok for including me in this Strawberry Treasury on Etsy

Michelle Kindergarten recital

2 days ago, my little Michelle had her very first school recital, she was a cute little flower.
When the teacher sent the note home for the costume, I immediately went to dig up my very first ballet tutu that I even wore. I thought, it's pink and it will be perfect! And here it is!

Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen. You're looking at a vintage piece as I was 8 when I got to rock this baby.
My daughter is 5 so I was a little bit shocked that I didn't have to retouch it in any way, not even the shoulder straps! Then I remember that this tutu was already resuscitated once, when my little sister was 5.....but I'm digressing.

My daughter loved the costume and even more so after I told that it was mine and I was proud of her having it now (it's not that I can really wear it anymore you know!).
Still, beside to the emotional attachment, I wasn't really satisfied as it didn't look "flower" enough.

That's when mama go shopping for pretty fabric and gets out the sewing machine!!! Of course, Michelle had to like everything too, so off we went and after some running around, some noisy sewing and a lot of trying on, we got the "flower look" I was aiming for.

A petal finish over skirt with sequin fabric and hand sewn flowers on her neckline and the front of the skirt and she looked just darling for her recital

Maybe I should have added sleeves.....what do you think???
