The lemonade stand.

Crocheted lemon slice and half slice Christmas ornaments, $5

It's summer. It's hot. But I've already started working on new Christmas ornaments.
But why don't get the best of both worlds and make refreshing looking ones? And that's how the citrus idea came about.

Crocheted Orange slice ornament, $5

It was in my head for a while when I made the orange Christmas ornaments. Now I'm just taking the idea further with lemons and soon I will have limes and grapefruits.

I wasn't very sure they were a COOL idea (pun intended), but few hours after listing my lemons, I found them here.

Pretty good indications that I should keep going, don't you think???

Sweet finds!!

I always get super excited when I get new cupcake/sweet finds, just like a child with a new toy!!

And when it's something useful, fun, super cheap and easy to find, I just have to share with all of you! What kind of blogger would I be other wise??? XO

The first item you are admiring a cupcake plate found at Dollar General for $1.50. Wasn't easy to pick one, 'cause they are all slightly different, would be fun to collect them all.

The second thing is a sundae ice cream topped pen, in blue, my fave color. And that's, my friend, is what I'm using to write down orders, thank you cards and notes.
I think I will be pretty sad when the ink runs out, but I figure that for $1 at the Dollar Tree (different from the Dollar General, because everything is $1 a piece), I can easily pick another one, probably a bit different but equally cute.

Do you have any similar picks for me? I'd love to know about it!

Why do I love my customers?

Yesterday afternoon my photo shoot session was interrupted by the door bell. When I opened the door there was this cute little package from Jelly Belly waiting for me.
Ready to see the content??? Yes??? Look further then!

The packaged contained a huge tin of jelly beans (shaped like a giant jelly bean!), sock with jelly beans designs and 2 jelly beans key chain, one in red for Gabriel and one in Purple for Michelle.
Surprised but slightly confused, I dag the rest of the package to see who was from and found a sweet and lovely card for my recent customer, Gail, thanking my for the hard work in serving her.....woot!!!

So, let me get this straight....I got the change to make some wonderful items, expanding my limits and play with new media and supply and for it not only I got paid, but I also got a jack pot prize???? I guess I died and went to heaven! Hoe did she know that I like to wear silly socks is beyond me. We exchanged emails and talked about fave colors (that's why she knew which colors my kids love) but the socks thing was completely a guess and she guessed right!!

And that's why I love customer orders, it really creates a connection between me and my lovely customers.

A new ballerina in the house!!

And nope, it's not me going back to my ever lasting love (ballet!), but it's my little girly girl!!
I signed up to a ballet class this month and she's loving it!!!!
As you can see for your self, this is her showing off her leotard and her skirt

She's having ballet and tap lessons every Tuesday and when it's dance lesson-day, she will ask repetitively...."Mommy, is it time yet?"
That's the face I get when I answer: "No yet, 3 more hours...."

Time to take a bow and go now.....

Summer trade event!

This weekend July 15th and 16th The Trading Post will be hosting our Summer Trade Event. We would like to invite everyone to come and check out what trading is all about.

We will be hosting the Summer Trade Event on July 15th-16th 2011 The event will begin on Friday July 15th starting at 11:00 am Central Standard Time and will break at 11:00pm in the evening. At 9am we will start up again and go until 8pm Saturday night July 16th. During the break time, anyone and everyone can still trade but, it will be stated that from 11pm-9am some traders may be taking a break.

Here is the starting list:

Crochetedlittlethings

Forgetmenotsoapshop

HillsideBakery

hummingbirdtak

Luvncrafts

MDavisDesigns

MugZee

Sewnfromtheheart

To be added to the list, you must complete a trade with a person on this list and your name will be added, the trade must be done during the trade event on Friday and Saturday.

What is Trading and How do I do it? Instead of giving money for items, you trade your items for something you would like from another trading partner.

First, you find something you are interested in and email the person asking if they would like to trade with you and tell them what you are interested in from their store.

Second, you wait for them to reply yes or no. If you are going to say no, please be polite and let the person know that you are unable to trade because you can't use any of their items or say sorry, I just can't trade this time or something else that is nice.

Third, if they say yes, you try to come as close as possible to the dollar amount of the item being traded including shipping cost.

Fourth, you and your trading partner agree to do the trade, then you both check out as if you are purchasing the item but, stop at the part where you would normally make your payment. Once both of you have checked out, then you mark the item they traded paid and they will do the same for you.

Fifth, you both ship your items to each other right away.

It does count as a sale and you should leave kudos after the item arrives and your trading partner will do the same.
