Mont Blue compact mirrors

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mont Bleu for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I've been doing some "Spring"cleaning around the house that has kept me from blogging as often as I'd like.

But boy, it feel so good to go through all the junk that we accumulate and purge the stuff we don't need anymore and make room for the things we now love.

One of the area that neede my attention in the house was the so called "mud room" that got a completely make over.

And since I was there I went through my purse and all the bags I have hanging around filled with stuff and boy!! Did I find the most craziest stuff in my purse!!! Everuthing, from store receipts, to baby wipes, my wallet and my glasses and my ever present compact mirror for quick touch ups.

Colgate mouthwash review

Thanks to Influenster I was able to review my own bottle of Colgate Total advanced Pro-Shield and I couldn't be more thrilled about it!!

First let me say that I ALWAYS use Colgate Total toothpaste to brush my teeth: seriously the other toothpastes do not compare, even my dentist noticed the difference and suggest it to all their patients. But when it came to mouth wash, I went to my old Listerine, not sure why? Maybe habit or brand popularity. Either way, I find the Listerine very harsh on my gums and can't use it regularly, I have to take breaks with it, no matter what flavor I get.

I did however, bought Colgate mouth wash for my kids before and I can definitely see the difference in their breath smell. It was about time I tried for my self and I'm so thankful that Influenster gave me this chance! So now that I used the mouth wash I can honestly say that I love it. It really holds true when it says that is protects against germs for 12 hours even after eating and drinking, I notice that my morning breath improved as well.

Among the things that I love about Colgate Total Advanced Pro-shield mouth is that is alcohol free, so it didn't burn and irritate my gums. The Peppermint blast flavor I was sent was surely of my liking, but I bet other flavors will work as well. Definitely in my "to buy" list next time I go to the store!

Oath ceremony: February 22nd 2013

If you follow my blog, you already know that I was working towards my citizenship this past months and after some bumps on the road (like this!), finally the day came: February 22nd I officially became an American citizen!!

And I promised to share, so here are the pictures. Please be kind, I look rough! That's what happened when you drive for 2 hours in pouring rain freaking out about not making it in time for the big day!!

The first shot is when they passed the mic around and asked me my name and where I was coming from. Let me tell you: MOST.EMBARRASSING.MOMENT.EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate talking in front a big mass of people and the place was packed. Plus I hate talking in the mic. UGH!
Unfortunately I don't have a clear shot of me actually reciting the oath of allegiance, but after the ceremony (that lasted about 4-5 hours!!!), I took a shot with the judges presiding while I'm holding the so coveted certificate of citizenship.

I must admit I'm really proud of myself for finally made the decision and go through the process. Wasn't easy task, but was worth it and I think it gave me some more confidence in doing more things more myself (but that's for another blog posts!)

I also want to take the time and thank 2 very special online friends that supported me in this process. I talked about my friend Kayla at The Eclectic Element very often, she's very near and dear to me and she sent me the sweetest little package. But I want you to go look for yourself, in this lovely blog post the she dedicated to me: I'm American
I love love love the scarf, I put it on to go at work the next day!!! Here it is!
And the bracelet is simply adorable! I like especially the symbolism in it: it of course have red, white and blue beads to symbolize the American flag, plus some black beads for the Black history in the country (Martin Luther King Junior), a cross charm for our freedom of religion (some country are not so lucky, you know?) and a red heart for the love that moves everything in the universe. And, of course, it has "I'm American" hand stamped on it and I love it even more knowing that it's one of the first hand stamped pieced of Kayla. What an honor!!! LOVE.IT!
My pictures really don't do justice to this lovely gifts, so please, visit Kayla's blog for some eye candy!

Another friend, Gail, also warmed my heart with this lovely necklace!!
How can I NOT wearing it proudly? I have America in my heart!

Trading: Soaplicity

Found a new shop I love though the pipes of the Trading Post: Soaplicity

The owner, Roshan, is a sweetheart and real piece of cake to work with it! So thrilled we worked out a trade!
I was impressed by the mission of her store:
"Soaplicity was born out of my desire to eliminate as many toxins and chemicals from my family's daily routine and as simply as possible. After much research to learn about the properties of botanical and essential oils, clays, and organics, and experimentation (i.e. - using my family as test subjects. Don't worry, no family member was harmed in the development of any product), I now offer these wonderful products to the public!
That is how we can give you OUR PROMISE: you will never find artificial colors, artificial fragrances, microwave processes, parabens, sulfates, or cruelty testing in any of our products."

My eyes were immediately caught but her lilac soaps: I love lilac scented soap, I feel it's a very relaxing and soothing scent and that's what I need at the end of a long day.
I was intrigued but the fact that she had 2 different lilac soaps listed in her shop and decided to get them both to see the difference between the 2!

A big plus in choosing her bars for me was the inclusion in her formula of seeds and buds: call me silly, but it makes me feel close to nature when I wash with soaps like that, it feels natural and just "right".

My interest was even more acute when I received the sweetly wrapped soaps: I could already smell the difference between the 2 bars.

Lavender Kiss has a clear and sweet orange note.
From Roshan description: "A tantalizing blend of lavender, orange, and patchouli essential oils makes this bar deep-breathing heaven. A moisturizing blend of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil, and Cocoa Butter deep conditions the skin while it cleans, and locks in moisture all day. Topped with organic lavender buds and calendula pedals. A "must try" for lavender fans."
I couldn't agree more! I found this soap to be very soothing, yet at the same time the citrus hint make it energizing as well: perfect to use before heading out for a big day when you need to be focused and relaxed and conquer that big project you've been chasing.

Luxe lavender instead is truly soothing and relaxing, perfect to wash off the stress of the week off your skin, with a gentle note of vanilla and the perfect amount of oatmeal to exfoliate and cleans.
I strongly suggest you visit her shop as she has some pretty sweet deals going on: "At Soaplicity, we love our customers so now through February 14th, when you leave a comment on one of our fantastic products you get 20% off your entire order! We are also giving FREE SHIPPING on all orders of US $20.00 or more with coupon code: SOAPYLUV13" post signature

Giveaway win: Free Spirit Jewels

I always enter giveaways I find all over the web, from friend's blogs to community forums and it's always a nice thrilling sensation when I finally win something!

This time, I found this giveaway promoted on the Artfire forums from a seller there and I'm happy to report that I was the lucky winner of a $10 gift certificate from Free Spirit Jewels

I immediately went on the search of something awesome in her shop and found this amazing Bohemian Petina Dangle Earrings

I loved the bohemian style and the "antique" looks they have, plus they come in many colors included my favorite: blue!
What else could I ask?

I won this giveaway before the holidays, so I was tickled to have a little package to open for myself. Lorraine promptly sent my prize out and even during the holiday postal overload, they showed up at my door at lightning speed!

Here some eye candy that I got as soon as I opened the package: I felt so spoiled!

Finally I had to try them on and show them off. Bear with me, it's not the best picture on the planet! (And yes, my hair have already grown THAT much!)

I can honestly say that they look awesome on me! LOL
Jokes aside, I love the medium size of the earrings and how light weight but sturdy they are!

You need to get yourself a pair too, you say? I hear ya! And I'm telling you for head over Free Spirit Jewels and get yourself some!
And while you're at it, visit her blog from more giveaways!
Right now, she's giving away a beautiful ring and another $10 gift certificate!

Merry Christmas to me Part 1

I have started to get some Christmas goodies in the mail from my dear friends, so I thought to start sharing them with you and make you drool!

The first package I got is from Lisa, the owner of Hillside Bakery
She knows me well as I can tell by the fact that she sent me a cupcake pincushion and it's BLUE!! My favorite color!!!

The peppermint bark was simply supreme!! She makes it herself and I've never tasted anything so good. I still have a little tiny piece left in the bag.....I know, I know! It's calling my name.

And of course the lovely snow man card!

I was very touched by how thoughtful she was and also how sneaky!!! One day I found this package on my door step and I started thinking how weird it was since I didn't order anything from her (this time!) and probably she made a mistake!! But nope!

She simply blessed me and I truly do feel blessed.....
