Limited editions

My last post was about 1 year and 4 months from now.
I wished I never stopped writing on here, but alas, life does gets in the way sometimes.

It is hard to summarize over a years in one post, so I'm going to limit the 2 most important events:
1) I got a full time job as a Biology teacher (yes, I'm actually using my degree!)
2) I bought a house

This post is more related to point #2.
As we were moving out of the old place and loading things in the cars to bring them here, somebody decided to "lift" some boxes from the lawn.....I kid you not!

One of the boxes being fulls of crochet thread and cotton than I use to crochet and create things for my shop.
Sad I know, also because it took me years to accumulate that much and select specific colors....
I'm not sure that I will be ever able to replace everything if anything.

That said, I'm trying to see the good in every situation and the way I see it is that the crocheted little things that I was able before the loss, are now limited editions as I don't have the tools, materials, nor time to make more.

With this in mind, I created a Limited Editions section in my shop with those discontinued pieces at very discounted prices. I hope you will take advantage of the possibility to buy something unique as I cannot reproduce any of these pieces anymore.

Do you have any Limited Editions that you'd like to share?

LIQUIDATION: 50% off sale

Yes, you read that right, Crocheted Little Things is having a 50% off sale on selected items

Do you see anything you like?? The prices are HOT!
Gloves and hats for under $15 and ornaments and pincushion under $5, jewelry starting as little as $3....time to stock up!

Yes, I said liquidation
Is Crocheted Little Things closing???? No, at least for now

Just moving in a slightly different direction. I will be more focused on publishing my patterns and working on my very first e-book.

Since I'm aspiring to start working full-time at school in the next months, I will have less time to dedicate to crocheting, so selling my knowledge makes more sense, it's easier and still profitable.

My crocheted creations will be, of course, still available upon request for custom orders and such.

 Then why the sale??
Well, truth be told, 2 important reasons.

First, some of my stock consist of items produced years ago.....yeah, I know. They are designs that I no longer carry because they didn't have success. That being said, they don't make me any money sitting in my closet, so I'd rather sell them at a loss and gain the space back.

Secondly, the space I was talking about above!
Help a girl clean her closet out to buy more shoes LOL
Enough kidding, all these items are sitting in a big luggage bag, the same luggage bag that I will need to bring with me in Italy in few months.
So, I need this bag empty......wanna help me out with that?? XO

By either purchasing something you love at deep discount or promoting my items on social media, I will really appreciate your help in making my dreams come true!

Oath ceremony: February 22nd 2013

If you follow my blog, you already know that I was working towards my citizenship this past months and after some bumps on the road (like this!), finally the day came: February 22nd I officially became an American citizen!!

And I promised to share, so here are the pictures. Please be kind, I look rough! That's what happened when you drive for 2 hours in pouring rain freaking out about not making it in time for the big day!!

The first shot is when they passed the mic around and asked me my name and where I was coming from. Let me tell you: MOST.EMBARRASSING.MOMENT.EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate talking in front a big mass of people and the place was packed. Plus I hate talking in the mic. UGH!
Unfortunately I don't have a clear shot of me actually reciting the oath of allegiance, but after the ceremony (that lasted about 4-5 hours!!!), I took a shot with the judges presiding while I'm holding the so coveted certificate of citizenship.

I must admit I'm really proud of myself for finally made the decision and go through the process. Wasn't easy task, but was worth it and I think it gave me some more confidence in doing more things more myself (but that's for another blog posts!)

I also want to take the time and thank 2 very special online friends that supported me in this process. I talked about my friend Kayla at The Eclectic Element very often, she's very near and dear to me and she sent me the sweetest little package. But I want you to go look for yourself, in this lovely blog post the she dedicated to me: I'm American
I love love love the scarf, I put it on to go at work the next day!!! Here it is!
And the bracelet is simply adorable! I like especially the symbolism in it: it of course have red, white and blue beads to symbolize the American flag, plus some black beads for the Black history in the country (Martin Luther King Junior), a cross charm for our freedom of religion (some country are not so lucky, you know?) and a red heart for the love that moves everything in the universe. And, of course, it has "I'm American" hand stamped on it and I love it even more knowing that it's one of the first hand stamped pieced of Kayla. What an honor!!! LOVE.IT!
My pictures really don't do justice to this lovely gifts, so please, visit Kayla's blog for some eye candy!

Another friend, Gail, also warmed my heart with this lovely necklace!!
How can I NOT wearing it proudly? I have America in my heart!

Merry Christmas to me Part 4

I have started to get some Christmas goodies in the mail from my dear friends, so I thought to start sharing them with you and make you drool!

This time the package is courtesy of Alisuns that sent me not one but two beautiful and sparkly necklaces. I loved the details and the colors, they remind me of Christmas bubbles, so I'm happily wearing one of them for this holidays.

Still, I was a little perplex on why she sent me two necklaces and not just one, so I had to ask her when I thanked her and her reasoning was that it was a mother and daughter set!! How delightful! I immediately shared the necklace with my precious daughter Michelle.

Do you think she liked it?? I know that she LOVED it!!!

But then again all of Alisuns jewelry is so lovely! I'm also enjoying a pair of snowman earrings that we traded for months ago. See for yourself!

Earrings part I

Last trade event on Artfire I traded for tons of earrings, and I mean TONS of earrings.
Don't ask me why, as I don't really know.
Of course, some will go as gifts, but some were all and ONLY for me!
While I do agree that a girl can never have enough blings, I had to wonder tho, when I'd wear some many different pairs, so I started matching them to my mood and my outfits and I'd like to show them off to all of you.

Today for example, I'm relaxing home and I'm wearing my purple outfit while I type this

So I'm sporting these matching Gold Filled Swarovski Amethyst Teardrop Earrings from Alisuns

Very elegant and cute and what I love the most is that they are very lightweight and don't bother me none if I forgot to take them off before going to sleep.

Comes from an amazing ArtFire studio, Your Time and I couldn't be more pleased than that!

Yummy Chocolate Lip balm tube, Handmade All Natural Treat Lipbalm, $2.95 by Your Time

When I saw the words yummy and chocolate I know there was something for me there and the word natural just called me for pushing the "Add to cart" button! I've been using it for over a week now and I'm addicted to it!! Now I can hide all the chocolate Iwat, blaming the fact that my mouth smells like chocolate from the lip balm and nothing else! lol

Lata was super quick to ship it to me and is a super sweet person to deal with!
Right now, she's participating to the Jean Love movement (see previous post for details): she will donate 100% of her proceeds from all sales until she total $50!!! Super generous isn't she?

So if you need jewelry, lip balms or soap and what to support Jean at the same time, this is the right time to shop, Your Time to shop to be more precise!
