Our Family is growing!

If you were expecting a post with the announcement that I'm pregnant, sorry to disappoint folks!
This is not it!

I'm happy with my 2 children and that business is now closed.

That said, our family is still growing since we adopted a little kitten! Let me introduce you all to Shadow (and all the food crumbs under my kitchen table lol)
We owned cats before but if was my life before kids and it was a little easier.
But the kids have asked for a pet before and now there is really no reason not to have one!

Shadow fits right in with his "independent moods" and playful energy.
Here he is, showing off his brand new collar that made him "officially" part of the family!

Cuddling up with my daughter

Playing with my son and his brand new mouse toy

Enjoying the new scratch post my husband bought for him

...and finally just requesting my attention!

If you'd like to see more picture of him and his everyday adventure, hop on Facebook!

Soccer season 2011

After 2 years of red, this year Gabriel is in the blue team. I was really impressed on how it handled being on a different team. Considering that red is his favorite color I thought he was gonna trow a fit or be upset, but....nope. Here he is, with his best buddy

And with the coach, throwing the ball back in the field

Still really hot here, so he has to take frequent breaks and keep hydrate.

That was a good kick.....

....too bad didn't score!

Parents night out!

Gabriel's school is hosting another parents night out tonight. The therapists will watch the kids enrolled in the school and their siblings, so the parents can have a 3 hours date worry free!! Me and hubby haven't decided what to do in 3 hours yet, but if will sure include a meal somewhere without the requirement of a playground or coloring menus to entertain the children lol

We already had one and was back in January....as much as we enjoyed, was with much horror that we come home from it and found the eviction note in our mail. So call me paranoid, as much as I'm happy to go out tonight, I'm very worried about what I will wake up to tomorrow.

But I try to keep it positive.

And on that positive note, I thought it would be nice to share some progresses that Big G (as we call Gabriel now) had made in the past weeks:
♥ He was telling me a story about a book he read at school. I didn't know that story, but he saying made perfect sense. When I brought him to school, he runs to pick up the book to show it to me and starts reading to me. Now his reading and comprehension it's nothing really new, but he's ability to memorize and summarize a story and being able to explain it in a way that made sense to another human being totally is. His growing interest in something that is not a video game is also very encouraging.
♥ He accepted bacon, turkey bacon and a little bit of steak introduced in his diet. He even tried (all by himself) celery and accepted to eat strawberries with his sister.
♥ He made the most cute ceramic tile for my husband for Father's day (I will be sure to make a post about it).
♥ Yesterday when our neighbor nephew stopped by to play with him and offered him a lollipop, he smiling accepted it without retrieving and making a disgusted face. He enjoyed the candy and then engaged appropriately in a hide-and-seek game involving Michelle too.
♥ Picking him up from school, he made me a small red paper heart and wrote "I love you mommy" that simply melted my heart.
♥ He also accepted to get back to soccer games even after the ball in the face he took last fall.

Back from Pensacola

Just in case I will not be able to blog for the next days, let me just wish you all a
Merry Christmas!!!

We went to Pensacola yesterday to get Gabriel to his neurologist appointment and were able to get an EEG done, that didn't show anything abnormal going on with his brain....phewww.
With that news, I informed the doc that this will be our last visit since in a year of his care he really wasn't able to tell us much more of what we already knew and all the solution he proposed failed. Plus, our insurance copay went up to $50 and we just can't afford to go back and forward is nothing is really going to happen.
But I was happy that my little boy was able to go through and have the EEG done, I think it was thank to hubby that was there, I decided to leave the room 'cause last time I had Gabriel kicking and screaming and was too hard for me to watch.

When we were all done with the doc, Gabriel gets in the car ans says: "I think I did a good job to the doctor, so now I deserve some chicken nuggets and to go play in the playground".
So, mommy and daddy brought him in total amazement.
And there they are, posing for mommy while I was taking pictures of how much fun they were having.

Up on the slide.....

....then down! I love how my children stick together to each other while playing!

We had and amazing day and I hope the same was for you :)

Mommy Bragging!

Yes, I'm definitely bragging today after being at Gabriel's school play yesterday night!
HE WAS AMAZING!!!!!
Dancing, singing, saying his line and having fun on the stage just like a pro!
I couldn't keep it for myself, I had to share!!!!
Looking at him yesterday I realized there is a lot more of myself in him that I ever thought possible. He was so comfortable on stage that reminded me the ol'days when I used to do that and enjoyed to no end.............ah missing those days, but watching MY SON doing the same thing yesterday was precious and I revived old memories through him and I must confess that I cried a little!!!
Can't wait to have the DVD and look at it over and over!

Well, I leave you all with a reminder now.
