Randomness Saturdays

Is it Saturday yet???? Let's get started!

♥ The school is over for both of my kids and time is very limited, but I LOVE cuddling in bed with my children after 7 am XO

♥ Gabriel had a little ceremony for completing Kindergarten: I took some picture of him and his teacher (above) and next year (in 2 months!) he will go to first grade!! YAY!!! Michelle will have another year of PreK, but both kids will go to the same school from now on, which will make my life much easier.

♥ I donate my hair to "Locks of Love": I let hubby cut my pony tail and he went a little bit "mad cutter" and the back of my hair looks very funky! I will post pictures for you all to see soon and my hair with a check will go out this coming Monday! In the meanwhile, I'm crocheting a hat to cover the mishap until my hair will grow back again :)

♥ We're going to visit my father in law tomorrow after he's been sick: thank you so much for your prayers, he's doing much better! Also, my mother in law is waiting for this dream catcher afghan that I just finished for her.

♥ A couple of treasury that I'd like to share with you!
Blueberries and Vanilla by Late night Design

And Lori Made this from the Handmade Highway members that are donating parts of their profits to the victims of the oil spills: Because the oceans should be blue.

More artist featured on Handmade Highway blog too.

What are you up to???

Randomness Saturdays

Oh boy, was it a strange week? But here we're to another Saturday.

♥ I want to start asking you for praying for my FIL: he had a minor heart attack and when brought to the hospital they found out that he has a bad case of lung pleurisy. He seems to be doing better and will be probably be out of the hospital by tomorrow afternoon, but still, we're pretty worried.

♥ I had some personal issues that really scared me and I want to thank everyone for the kind words and support. It seems that the case is closed and hopefully it's everything behind us.

♥ Now I have a series of people to thank for featuring me so here it goes.
I scored another mention on the Handmade Highway blog thanks to Alecia Miller of Madbird that put together a collection of teacher gift. Since school is almost over, you might be interested in checking this out :)

♥ My birthday cupcake was included in a very awesome treasury: 'Nothing' ever looked so good by LilliputLoft. THANK YOU, I'm honored!

♥ Anne from Made For Me By Oaklie let me know that our common friend Kim from vabeachquilter choose my flower cupcake for her collection in the Yummy Great Finds. I was amazed by the beauties over there!!! There is a little poll on the left bar where you can vote the best item.....I dare you to pick one to vote for!!! LOL

♥ And the sweetest Karolina posted about my cupcake hat on her blog in a post about food inspired items and I was amazed to discover that the blog is in a foreign language. I'm not sure what is it, I'm guessing if Russian, but there is a Google translator on the right bar in case you want to understand what she saying :) THANKS KAROLINA!!

♥ Last thing I want to say and then I have to run, because the kids are calling me.... I'm now donating 10% of my profit to the oil spill victims.....the situation is pretty bad! I'm trying to put together some promotional material about this case and hopefully I will have a post about this soon.
In the meanwhile, if you'd like to donate too and are not sure how to go about it, consider donating your items or purchasing from HelpTheGulfCoast

Hope you're having a great week end!! Until next time....

A lot to say!

A lot is being going on this week and I wasn't constant in updating my blog, so I'm left with a lots to day and many many people to thank.

Let's start shall we? With a little bit of personal life.....

♥ Early this week I went to my daughter school for the last field trip before school ends (way too SOON) and we had lots of fun playing outside in the water, coloring a paper fish and she looked adorable in the crab shirt that the teachers let her make.
More picture of that day are on facebook.

♥ Yesterday we celebrate the Memorial day going to the Pow Wow in Chipley and as you can see my kids had fun in an Indian dance. I never been at an Indian Pow Wow before and I'm not sure what to think of it since the weather was kinda of crazy and didn't really have the chance to look around. But it was nice to reconnect with family and I was able to meet with my hubby's aunt that is grieving: I was pleased to see that she's coping really well and find some peace.
I took few more picture and if you'd like to see a real Indian, you can find them on facebook.

♥ I passed my last 2 tests for the Child Care Training. This week I'm going to take few more questions trying to earn CEU (just in case) and I will have to get my finger prints taken (yet again) and let the police to a background check on me and I'm in game.....who's hiring???

Regarding business: is not going so well for me. I cannot hide it, May was my worst month in 2 years and I'm very disappointed....Was it me? Did the surgery threw me off so bad? Did people stop shopping? I don't know. I'm trying to do the best I can with what I have and doesn't look so encouraging. But I do have awesome friend out there in the web, always ready to pick me up when I'm down, so I'm here to thank them:

♥ Thank you to Five Little Gems for including my cupcake washcloths in her treasury.

♥ Thanks to Julie from Creations With Heart for including my cupcake pincushion in her Top 10 Handmade creations

♥ Thank you Lori from the Risky beads (BTW she's running a FREE SHIPPING promotion) for featuring my cupcake key chain on the Handmade Highway blog.

♥ Last ,but not least, I want to thank Anne from Made for me by Oaklie for offering me a free ad spot on The Gift Shop for the month of June as a thank you for featuring other people. I found it incredibly sweet!!!

I hope you'll are having a wonderful Memorial day Weekend: let's not forget the soldiers that die for us every day and the ones that did so in the past.

Featuring Risky Beads

Ok reader, as I pre announced in a previous post, I'm here to tell you about some nice trades that I worked out for Christmas gift. Here to you the first one: Risky beads.
I met Lori a while ago when I was looking for some inexpensive way to promote my shop and joined the Handmade Highway and thought I'm not really into jewelry I fell in love with her creations, specially her necklaces and pendants.

I LOVE the fact the every necklace has a name, the one above is "Eye of the Storm". Isn't it gorgeous with all those colors and the luxurious organza ribbons and leather cord??
Also, all the jewelry are extra unique because they come with a little poem, a specific story that is unique for every piece.

This one for instance is called "Mermaid autopsy" and the story behind recite: "Say what you want, but clearly she loved the sea more than the handsome prince. Just look at all that emotion for the ocean".
I don't know about you, but I found this little story very evocative, give me the impression to buy far more that a pendant!
Beside necklaces and pendants, Lori also sells gorgeous earrings (very reasonable priced), original nurse Purses, bracelets, bookmarks and key chains and her Etsy guide like this one:

I find it very useful and give me a little push for big decision that I took recently!(more on this topic soon!)
She's also destashing her supplies at Risky Stash and has a very interesting blog where My cupcakes were feature few days ago.
Well, I hope you enjoyed knowing Lori as much as I did!
And sty tuned for my next trade/feature :)
